Gisele Arruda is a professor and interdisciplinary researcher in Cicumpolar Studies & Strategic Management, Climate Change Adaptation (Global Commons - Atmosphere, Oceans, Polar), Natural Resources Management and Innovation, Security and Geopolitics. She studied two PhDs and she works on the interfaces between science, industry, management and policy related to Climate Change Adaptation, Arctic geopolitics, Energy Systems, Sustainable Development, Environmental Management and Innovation, Decarbonization, Arctic and global governance, international business and management and socio-technical systems, Risks and Hazards (preparedness and nuclear capabilities), She is a member of the UArctic, a country director of International Higher Education Teaching and Learning Association, New York, U.S. and Scientific member of IARPC. She belongs to multidisciplinary research institutions in Europe, North America and Nordic countries. She is involved in program and training design, online learning, scientific publications and evaluation of research projects. Previous books are 'Renewable Energy for the Arctic' and 'Sustainable Energy Education in the Arctic', Corporate Social Responsibility in the Arctic, Polar and Climate Change Education, Citizen Science and Education, Climate Adaptation and Green Finance and the latest book entitled Arctic Security and Environmental Change: Climate Science, Peace and Defence by Routledge (Taylors & Francis).
